The Most Important Future Road Projects:
Highway network development projects:
Construction and maintenance of roads and bridges, and other services for the First Ring Road commercial zone -
Group 3:
It aims at developing and upgrading the existing roads and increasing their capacity in addition to the preservation of historic
buildings and providing the sufficient capacity to switch traffic. The project begins at the intersection in Al Shuhada Street and
up to the end of Khalid bin Al Waleed Street, as well as crossing intersections in Al Marri Street, Mubarak Al-Kabeer Street and
Abu Obeida Street.
The scope of works for this group includes a lower tunnel which consists of two lanes at each direction, and the proposed way
up the tunnel which consists of two lanes at each direction in addition to the turning lanes.
Implementation and maintenance of Al Fahaheel Highway (30)
It aims to raise the capacity of the existing road and to reduce traffic density in order to reduce traffic accidents and to upgrade
safety levels on the road.
The project involves the study of the establishment of a bridge stretching from Kuwait City and down to Al Ahmadi with
expected length of about 36 km.
The project is divided into three groups:
The first group starting from Al Ahmadi to the Sixth Ring Road.
The second group - starting from the sixth ring road to Kuwait City.
The third group - the second part of the sixth ring road to Kuwait City.
Establishment and maintenance of different intersections to serve Al Jahra region:
The project includes the construction of several intersections in Al Jahra province to serve Amghara area on the Sixth Ring
Road – Oyoun area on the sixth Ring road - Al Jahra Road (80) in addition to the creation of a pedestrian bridge adjacent to
the intersections according to the traffic study and the requirements of the Kuwait Municipality and the Ministry of Interior.
The project also includes the development, servicing and repair of existing infrastructure in the sites of these intersections.
Establishment and maintenance of different intersections to serve Mubarak Al Kabeer region and the province of
Hawally:
It includes the construction of several levels of intersections in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate on King Fahad Highway road
40 for the following areas:
Route 250 between Al Mubarak Al-Kabir and Al Qurain.
Route 150 between Al Adan and Al Qusoor.
Road No. 40 in Sabah Al-Salem area.
Exit to Road 101 and Road 111 in the province of Hawally in Al Jabriya region.
Also it includes the construction of a pedestrian bridge adjacent to the intersections according to the traffic study and the
requirements of the Kuwait Municipality and the Ministry of the Interior the project also includes the development, servicing
and repair of existing infrastructure in these intersections.
