Chapter 1 - Projects
Roads projects that have been presented and are in process of tender
First: Upgrading of Cairo street project:
The project is located in Kuwait city ( the capital ) .
The project aims to develop the road network and improve the expected future traffic by increasing the absorptive
capacity of the roads and intersections, securing new ways of connecting areas, and improve the traffic safety level.
Works scope:
Developing 7km long of roads.
Constructing 2.3km of underground roads of three tunnels along the Cairo
Street.
Constructing 5 ground-level bridges above the tunnels .
Constructing a wrapping loft bridge.
Constructing 7 pedestrian bridges.
Constructing 5 services bridges.
Conversion and protection of services, including rainwater drainage..
Second: The construction of pedestrian bridges in different parts of the State of Kuwait:
The project aims to create and complete a number of pedestrian bridges (according to the modern specifications of the
Kuwait Municipality, which is for the pedestrian bridges to be covered) in different locations in the State of Kuwait,
which are important and sensitive areas due to the large number of run-over accidents there.
The project is divided into two groups in a total of 24 bridges.
First group:
The project consists of constructing 12 bridges of developing a pedestrian bridge in front of Al-Farwaniya hospital
above road “602”, develop two pedestrian bridges, one of them links between the areas of Ardiya and crafting Ardiya in
front of Al-Salam mosque, and the other links between those areas in front of Al-Mikhyal mosque, developing another
pedestrian bridges in various sites on Airport road between Khaitan and Farwaniya areas, developing another one that
links Khaitan and South Surra above King Faisal road “50”, developing another bridge that links between Eshbelia
area, block 4 and Al Nassr sports club in Al-Ardiya area for government uses, developing another bridge between Al-
Waha and the Investment areas, developing another bridge that links between Al-Salam block 7 and Hiteen block 2
areas, in addition to the deportation of a current pedestrian bridge along the Fifth Ring road between Al-Riqae and
Crafting Ardiya.
Second group:
The project consists of 12 bridges that will be developed in several areas. Those pedestrian bridges are: one that
connects between Bayan block 11, in front of Lulua Yousif Al-Zibn mosque, and Mishref block 2 areas, Al Shiib Al
Bahri, one that connects between Bayan block 12 in front of Imam Hussain bin Ali mosque and Mishref block 6 areas in
front of Mishrif International communication center, and another one that connects between Salwa and Anjafa beach
areas.
The project also includes the shading of the pedestrian bridge that connects between Al-Edeliya and Al-Khaldiya areas,
the reconstruction of a bridge between Al-Faiha and Kaifan and changing the bridge’s slope from circular to straight,
developing two other pedestrian bridges in various sites between Al Adan hospital in Al-Hadiya area and Al-Riqa area,
and developing another one that connects between both blocks “7,8”, with blocks “1,6” in Mubarak Al-Kabeer area on
Al-Ghoos street.
The project also includes developing a pedestrian bridge that connects between Hawali and Salmiya areas above the
Fourth Ring road, and another bridge on the First ring road in front of the Palace of Justice.
