The project is located in Hawalii Governorate
The project aims to solve the problem of traffic congestion that is expected in the Governmental Inquiries area. The
South Surra road network development project comes in order to secure free movement of traffic to get to the Sheikh /
Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Hospital from nearby highways. It also aims to develop the internal roads network in South
Surra area
The project includes modifications to the existing intersections to become intersections of free movement, as well as
the establishment of bridges and tunnels with transferring the main services.
Working scope:
Major Improvements to 3 interchanges accessing South Surra Area.
Viaduct connecting 6th Ring road to Sheikh Jaber Al Ahamed Al Sabah Hospital .
8 Flyover Bridges - 6 At-grade Bridges - 4 Troughs - 11 km Road improvements - 2 Pedestrian Bridges - Landscaping.
Second:
The (6.5) Ring Road highway project :
The project situation until December 2014: Preparing for tender .
The project is located in Al-Farwaniya Governorate.
The project includes the construction of a highway of 15 km long according to international standard specifications from
the beginning of the future intersection with the Seventh Ring Road until the end of a future intersection with Airport
Road.
The project aims to convert part of the Sixth Ring Road to the path of the new 6.5 to serve the expected traffic of Sabah
Al-Salem University City in Shedadiya area by a direct entrance to the Kuwait International Airport after its
development.
The 6.5 Ring road starts from the intersection with the Seventh Ring road and ends at the intersection point with road
(50).
The project also includes the improvement and development of the existing road (Road 602) between the Jeleeb Al-
Shyuyoukh area and the new University City in Shedadiya to ensure streamlined traffic to those areas.
Number of Intersections : 8 – number of Pedestrian bridges : 9.
