Shiekh / Jaber Al-Ahmad Al Sabah Stadium

His Highness the Amir Sheikh / Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah inaugurated the Sheikh / Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-

Sabah Stadium on December 18, 2015.

Sheikh / Jaber Stadium project is a wonderful architectural masterpiece in architecture, design, creation. The exterior design of

the stadium represents the marine environment of Kuwait represented by Alboom (An old Kuwaiti sea ship), and the wildlife

environment represented by the horse’s saddle. The latest technology has been used to meet all the requirements in order to

complete the project in accordance with the the latest international sports cities,

The Sheikh / Jaber Al-Ahmad Stadium is the largest sports stadium in Kuwait and the Seventh largest in the Arabian region,

and the twenty-fifth globally in terms of capacity. It has a capacity of around 60,000 spectators, divided as follows: 58 000 seats

for the public, 300 seats for the disabled, 750 VIP seats, 250 seats for the media and 600 seats for the private cabines.

The project is located in Farwaniya, south of Kuwait City, in the Industrial Ardiyah between Al Nasr Sports Club and Farwaniya

Hospital on the Sixth Ring Road, and has a total land area of 400,000 m².

Project components:

Athletics track - swimming pool - meeting rooms - the stadium Services - sites of both the police, the ambulance and fire

services.

The stadium consists of four floors:

First floor: Especially built for VIP as well as parking and helipads

The second floor consists of the Amiri hall, Amiri break room’s entrances, doctor room, and the main Amiri hall that’s

overlooking the stadium. There is also a room for officials, secretarial and the record, in addition to a glass museum for the

stadium’s statue, meeting rooms and rooms overlooking the field and 54 cabins for up to 600 spectators, it also has rooms for

television and the press view, which are also overlooking the field, a room for press conferences with simultaneous translation

for three languages, 100 chairs for journalism, five rooms for radio commentary, six studios for television broadcast, television

& radio control room, analysis studio room, control room, results and advertisements’ panel control room, rooms for guards and

police, ambulance room, and a master control room overlooking the stadium.

Third floor: consists of four chapels, stores selling sports clothes and meals, and a number of television camera platforms.

Fourth floor: Contains services for the ceiling and hanged lights.

This is in addition to the external and internal car parking.

The pitch’s ground contains tubes to draw water from the pitch, which are then re-refined for reuse,

The stadium also features a high-definition screen that is the first of its kind in the Middle East in terms of the degree of clarity,

in addition to “Spider Cam” cameras that can move and record vertically and horizontally through the whole pitch.
