– Sewage Systems and Water Treatment –

A statement about the sewage water treatment plants ( STP ) in the state of Kuwait

Kabd STP :

The station was established in 2007 with a designed capacity of 180,000 m³/ day, and could be expanded to 250,000 m³/ day

in its same current area. It now receives wastewater of an estimated 150,000 m³/ day from the new pump station in Al-Jahra.

The station serves Al-Jahra, Sulaibikhat, Saad Al-Abdulla, and Jabir Al-Ahmed areas

The station produces tertiary-treated water by 98.6% of the total amount of sewage water flow, through the following stages:

1. The primary treatment phase (physical therapy) - to remove sediment, sand and oil.

2. Bilateral treatment stage (biological treatment) where the water is ventilated by compressed air in order to oxidize the

organic matter and the remove odor-causing gases.

3. Tertiary treatment phase (sterilization and filtration).
