The headquarters of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs building project:

The project is located in Governmental Riqae area – Farwaniya governorate on the Fourth Ring Road’s intersection
with Muhamad bin Al-Qassim street, just 9 km away from Kuwait Airport and 10 km from Al-Asema
The building reflects the character of the Islamic architecture. The building was designed to achieve the desired
objectives to serve all of the important sectors inside for both the employees and the civilians. The sustainable
architecture has been applied by compiling many of the tasks in one function, which makes the project highly-
performance in operation, energy-saver, and reduce environmental impacts. The new building is expected to be the
new cultural architectural monument that is characterized by authenticity and the revival of the Islamic heritage’s spirit.
The ministry consists of 9 sectors, which are: The minister’s wing, Supreme Committee for Moderation affairs, cultural
affairs, affairs of the Holy Quran, Islamic Studies and Hajj affairs, media coordination, foreign affairs, Planning and
Development and the Fatwa and legitimate Researches and mosques affairs, administrative and financial affairs, in
addition to other helping activities such as libraries, computer labs, multi-purpose hall, various stores, parking, shelter,
mosque, and the project’s services.
Total space of the project: 26,560 m² that includes:
-The ministry’s building : 12,500 m².
-The ministry’s mosque: 2,330 m² that accommodates up to 2,550 male prayers and 400 female prayers.
-Building for the Imam (A residential unite for the Imam and muezzin) .
-A green space and services of 11,730 m² .
-A water surface of about 140 flat meters .
-The parking’s capacity is 1105 cars.
-The building has 16 floors of a height of 76.6 m.
