The intersections on main highways to serve Sheikh / Jaber Al-Ahmad City project:
Commencement date: September 2013.

"The intersections on main highways project to serve Sheikh / Jaber Al-Ahmad City" is one of four projects by the
Ministry of Public Works that are being implemented in the region, and aims to create intersections that serve new
cities, and to facilitate the traffic between the city of Sheikh / Jaber Al-Ahmad , Al-Jahra City, entertainment city, West
Sulaibikhat, and the city of Sheikh / Saad al-Abdullah.
The project consists of six intersections designed to service the cities of Sheikh / Jaber Al-Ahmad, Sheikh / Saad al-
Abdullah, and the West Sulaibikhat area. These intersections were distributed on the Doha highway, where there are
two intersection "IC14, and IC15". On the Jahra highway there are 4 intersections: "IC5, IC18, IC19, IC6". The project
contains two bridges, one of them is on Al-Jahra road, 155 meters long, which is a three-lane bridge in both directions.
The second bridge is 250 meters long, and it’s also a three-lane bridge in both directions. The project includes only one
tunnel.
The project also contains service works, such as rainwater networks, fresh water and brackish water networks, phone
lines, street lighting works, streets cosmetic works, and KOC services works.
- Intersection IC5 serves those who are heading towards Jabir Al-Ahmed City and the palace. Traffic lights have been
removed in order to facilitate traffic movement.
- Intersection I18 serves those who are heading from Sheikh/ Jabir Al-Ahmed City towards Sheikh / Saad Al-Abdulla
City.
- Intersection IC6 serves those who are heading from Sheikh/ Jabir Al-Ahmed City towards Sixth ring road.
- Intersection IC19 provides services for Sheikh/ Jabir Al-Ahmed City from its entrances and exits on road 80.
- Intersection IC14 is the only tunnel in the project, and it’s an extension of the Doha link. It connects Jamal Abdul
Nasser road with the project.
- Intersection IC15 is the second bridge in the project. It links the Doha highway with Doha entertainment City, in
addition to the services for West Sulaibikhat with Sheikh/ Jabir Al-Ahmed City.
Fifth:
Intersections on the middle part of Jahra road project:
Commencement date: September 2012.
Completion progress until December 2014: 46%
The project starts from Al-Omam Roundabout until Doha link, it consists of 3 intersections that allow the car drivers to
drive directly from Al-Omam Roundabout to Doha link without stopping due to the absence of intersections and traffic
lights. This is one of the major projects that are being implemented by the Ministry of Public Works that continues the
linking of bridges, intersections and roads in an ongoing cycle to facilitate the traffic flow from the main project starting
from Al-Jahra road all the way up to Al-Jahra area.
- Intersection IC7: 350 meters long.
- Intersection IC8: 575 meters long.
- Intersection IC9: 570 meters long.
