The Design Department undertakes preparing the studies and designs of sanitary drainage networks, treated water networks, and the complementary tertiary and quartet treatment plants in all parts of Kuwait. In addition, it follows-up on the consulting offices working on the preparation of these designs. The Department also prepares the documents and contracts in cooperation with the Control and Audit Sector - Contract and Document Department.
The Design Department comprises the following sections:
- Study and Design Section.

- Design Department.
- Adopt the design plans for external sanitary drainage in mega projects to be linked to the sanitary drainage network
- Respond to requests of dividing and merging parcels in various regions in Kuwait.
- Drainage Exit License of Building (in case there are no sanitary drainage system services near the building or new regions).
- Requests to connect parcel drainage system to the public drainage network.
- Respond to service declaration requests of the Sanitary Engineering Sector.
- Check and audit the designs of sanitary drainage plans of various projects submitted by engineering consulting offices.
