Believing in the important role of statistic and information in the field of planning, as it is considered a main reference of
drawing future plans, the Ministry of Public Works, represented by the Planning Department in the Planning &
Development Sector, is keen on preparing and issuing the Annual Statistical Manual to become a comprehensive
reference to the various works and achievements of the ministry.
The 2016 Statistical Manual includes the ministry’s most important achievements during the past ten years since the
crowning of His Highness Sheikh / Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, in addition to the projects achieved during the
years 2015 and 2016. It also includes data and statistics for the most important projects that are underway their
implementation and future ones.
The Statistical Manual includes statistical data of the current status of all the ministry’s projects and statistics of the
various beneficiaries from the construction projects carried out by the ministry, in addition to the ministry’s services
from maintenance works, and the Government Center for Testing, Quality Control and Researches.
The manual also includes detailed statistical data, for the current and previous years, of the main and internal roads’
lengths and spaces from 2002 until 2016, which are expected to be implemented until the completion of each of the road
projects. In addition to a detailed statement of the sewage systems, pumping stations, water treatment plants and treated
water’s quantities’ development plants. It also includes a brief presentation of the annual development plan (2015/2016)
and a summary on all events and international relationships between the Ministry of Public Works and other
corresponding countries of memorandum of understanding, protocols and agreements since 1996 until 2016, showing
what has been accomplished from mechanical systems, training programs, and statistical data for the ministry’s
employees, and financial data of the ministry’s various financial budgets.
The Statistical Manual is of prominent importance, because the availability information, statistics and data is the basis in
the planning work and promotes development, and is also an essential tool for the scientific research and the main pillar
in preparing the future plans. In conclusion, we ask the Lord Almighty to help us for the desired progress and prosperity
of our beloved country, the State of Kuwait.
