Chapter 1 - Projects
Third :
Construction, Operation and Maintenance of TSL networks and reservoirs for Project Area – C1.
Commencement date: July 2012.
Completion progress until December 2014: 79%
The project starts from Sabah Al-Salem, passing through Al-Funaites, Mahbola, Al-Riqa, Al-Hadiya, and ends in Al-
Fahaheel. From the south it starts from the Seventh Ring Road and ends in the coastline region and Sabhan, in
addition to a line of a length of 2 km alongside the airport road In Shuwaikh.
The project consists of:
Constructing 14 tanks in the areas of (Sabhan, Sabah Al-Salem, Al-qosoor, Mubarak Al-Kaber, Abo Futaira, Al-Dahar,
Al-Rigga, Al-Fintas, Al-Mahbola).
Constructing a tank and a main pumping station (R-57) in Al-Dahar area behind Sabhan cemeteries that contain huge
transportation pumps with a capacity of 800m3/hour each, they transport the water to the tanks’ sites, which then
transfer it to the irrigation network in various areas.
The tanks contain the pumping rooms, which consists of two groups, in every group there are 4 irrigation pumps, and
each pump gives 70 m3/hour, at a height of 80 meters.
The establishment and extension of the treated water transmission line of approximately 56 km of ductile iron pipes
with different diameters to connect the reservoirs with Al-Rigga treatment plant.
Supply, installation and operation of the booster pumps and Sand filters for the tanks.
Supply, installation and operation of transporting pumps and booster pumps, chlorine pumps, filters, overhead cranes,
and the remote information transfer devices, and all the related equipment and control devices for the operation of
these systems.
It’s one of the Ministry of Public Works’ series of project that uses the
treated water in landscaping and afforestation of highways. The project
will be connected with Al-Riqa treatment plant to deliver tertiary-treated
water to various residential areas (South of Sixth Ring Road), in which 14
tanks were established in it connected with a network of pipelines
stretching to an estimated distance of 59 km, using the latest global
technologies in the field of remote controlling through the SCADA for
remote supervisory control and collecting data remotely using fiber optics
to transfer the data to the control center in order to know everything that is
happening inside the tanks from the launch of water from the station all
the way until it reaches the place of irrigation.
