Government Center for Testing and Quality Control Building
Beneficiary: Ministry of Public Works.
The government center for tests building and quality control project is located in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate - South
Subhan area, block 13 on a total area: 62,500 Mitr². It aims to create a new building which is far from the residential areas that
copes with the global technical specifications, and accommodates new laboratories to provide specialized and necessary
technical services needed by the construction industry in Kuwait.
This project is unique and pioneer artistically and technically in the field of testing and quality control. It contains laboratories at
the highest technical level and the latest technologies, and provides all the services for tests and quality control in the current
place. In addition to other important and vital services to the construction industry and will serve a wide segment of the auditors
in the field tests and tests and quality control of the bodies, institutions and companies contracting local and global consulting
and offices.
The project brings together all the constituent parts of the center consists of three main blocks together constitute a right-angled
triangle and an isosceles which is about the main building management center, laboratories and building construction
department, also labs roads department building. All the buildings have been architecturally linked to these buildings in line with
pyramidal shape through the use of iron canopy and the structure of interstitial iron pyramid to be a hallmark of the project, in
addition to other distinguishing mark, which is the high-rise and adjacent to the main building tower. The project is characterized
by a pyramidal shape that has the ability to take advantage of solar energy by creating openings for entry of the sun into the
various facilities to preserve the environment and to provide electric power.
The project consists of:
The main building: consist of a basement and ground floor, 5 floors. The fourth floor has been allocated to the Chief Engineer,
the fifth floor has been allocated to the agent assistant for the Center. The basement contains the water tanks, pump rooms,
cafeterias, service staff, and a chapel for men and women and other areas have been allocated for storage.
Laboratory buildings: composed of laboratory roads building and laboratory construction building with a length of 100 meters
and width of 50. The laboratories are overlooking at the interior street with a double height to accommodate high equipment
(more than 6 meters), and the technical offices are located in the first floor at the top laboratories. The second floor includes
engineers and heads of department’s offices.
Parking Building: Located behind the main building and consists of a basement and a capacity of 350 cars (dedicated to staff)
and the shaded surface parking can accommodate up to 450 cars (dedicated to the visitors).
Services Building: It is composed of several small service buildings for operating various services, and have been separated
from the main building by the main entrance’s street
Site coordination works: includes agricultural cosmetic areas with a permanent irrigation system and walls and gates and a
full lighting for the project.
The project also contains a tower adjacent to the main building with a height of up to 50 meters and holds the Ministry of Public
Works logo.
