Study , design and supervision on agreement for execute the
development work of AlGhos street
The project aims to:
Developing AlGhous street as it is considered one
of the vital roads which suffers from traffic
congestion, as it is composed of two lanes or 3 lanes
per direction and lies parallel to the King Fahad road
(40) and Fahaheel road (30). That is why the project
aims to develop and rehabilitate the current road
based on the highways designing standards to make
it a movement-facilitating road and to accommodate
the increasing traffic flow due to the growth in
population in the surrounding areas such as Fahad
Al-Ahmed, Jabel Al-Ali, Abo Fateera, Mahbola,
Meseela, and Sabah Al-Salem.
The project’s length is approximately 30 km and
starts from the Fifth Ring road from the north (Bayan)
and ends in the Fahaheel road from the south. It
includes the development and rehabilitation of 26
current intersections through the removal of all traffic
lights and construct 12 upper bridges and
roundabouts to connect each surrounding residential
city and to provide a free traffic flow with a speed of
80 km/h. It also include increasing the lanes’ width to
the standard size (3.7 meters) and adding service
roads and barricades to separate the main road from
the service roads. Also, to raise the safety level, 11
pedestrian crossing bridges will be constructed. Safe
bus stops will also be provided with the
improvements of the current parking lots along the
road.
The project is divided into three stages which will be
implemented all at once.
The current status :
All of the related bided contracts has been completed.
