- Projects - Achievements
From the projects, which the Ministry of Public Works had accomplished in the field of infrastructure
development of health services and raise the efficiency of sewage networks and improve their ability to
meet the rates of population growth and urbanization.
Construct a Main Line from OMAM Roundabout to the intersection with Military Compound in Kazima at
Jahra Road :
Location : Al Jahra Governorate.
The project aims to construct a new sewer lines and removing existing pumping stations.
The project includes:
1-Lines extension works using the Microtunnelling method:
it includes the main lines and links to some lines, with a total length of about 28 km and large depths .
ranging from (6 meters and to a depth of 28 meters) and with different diameters starting from 200 mm and up to
2200 mm diameter, there will also be an establishment of a number of various manholes.
2-Lines extension works using the Open Trench method:
it includes a small part of the main line diameter of 500 mm and some links of 300 mm in diameter, with a total
length of approximately 1 km and depths ranging between (6-4 meters).
3-Connections works on the main sewage line:
It includes the connection and extension, either lines for new residential areas such as Jabir Al-Ahmad and Saad
Al-Abdulla, or current areas such as Jahraa, Doha, and Sulaibikhat on the new main sewage line with a total
lengths of approximately 5 km with different diameters.
4-Motorized Sluice Gates construction works:
It includes 3 main shafts on the main sewage lines near the stations in order to control the sewage water flow that
is entering the main pumping station.
5-Water overflow drainage works:
It includes the works of drilling and extension of lines in 3 different places with diameters of 1600 mm and 1800
mm to connect the main sewage line with the current manholes that are based on the rainwater drainage sewers in
order to discharge wastewater in case of an emergency on the exits of those sewers.
6-The Removal of current stations and abandonment of existing sewage lines:
It includes the demolition and removal of 2 lifting stations (A18) and (A19) with the abolition of the sewage lines
and their respective inspection rooms.
