A Statement about the work development at the center for testing, quality control and research
 Calibration lab:
The importance of calibration lies in the presence of a specific and well-known reference to the same measurement, for
example, when measuring the weight of the block using multiple scales, there must be a standard scale that can be
referenced to, to determine the error rate in the rest of the scales.
Due to the importance of having a reference for all devices, it has become necessary to establish a laboratory for
measurement and calibration in Kuwait like the existing laboratories in the world.
The Ministry of Public Works has been considered (as a representative of the government center for testing and quality
control and research) the establishment of this laboratory and present it as a tender for the financial year 2014/2013,
with an estimated financial cost of about 3.5 million Kuwaiti dinars, including the establishment of a building housing a
ten laboratories and are as follows:
- Mass equipment and devices calibration lab.
- Heat equipment and devices calibration lab.
- Moisture equipment and devices calibration lab.
- Electricity for construction materials equipment and devices calibration lab.
- Power and torque equipment and devices calibration lab.
- Dimensions equipment and devices calibration lab.
- Pressure equipment and devices calibration lab.
- Time and frequency equipment and devices calibration lab.
- Sizes equipment and devices calibration lab.
- Fire construction materials equipment and devices calibration lab.
General goals of the project:
Work development in all of the center’s labs.
Training a national staff specialized in calibration and universally supported.
Create a unique awareness by the best methods to use the equipment and devices within the laboratory and maintain
it.
Providing calibration services and technical support for all sectors and ministries.
Calibrating the test equipment in the labs.
Obtaining the ISO certificate.
Upgrading the government center to become an accredited center in this area.
 Laboratory information management system project:
Work is underway in the application of this system in the government center departments.
General goals of the project:
- The conversion of most of the paper documents into electronic version while retaining the physical papers.
- Reduce the documentary cycle.
- Distribution of orders on the departments and examiners electronically with the development of an alternative plan if a
malfunction occurs in the system.
- Doing calculations electronically for more speed and accuracy.
- Correct storage of information and documents.
- Create a database, work through it, and take advantage of it.
