Ali Al-Aas wrote | In a serious move by the Ministry of Public Work to address the ramifications of the rain problem, the Ministry announced that the fact-finding committee formed by the Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Dr. Rana Al-Fares will finally submit its report on December 9th. The Ministry indicated in a statement yesterday that several bodies are participating in the committee, where it is headed by the representative of the Fatwa and Legislation Department, Advisor Dr. Mersal Almajidy, the committee is also membered by the professor of the College of Engineering and Petroleum at Kuwait University, Dr. Musaed Al-Rashidi, and a representative of the Society of Engineers, Eng. Rashid Al-Anzi, and the Head of the Kuwaiti Association for the Defense of Public Funds, Advocate Saleh Al-Ajmi, as well as the Head of the Ministry's Audit and Inspection Office, acting as a rapporteur for the committee. It explained that the committee aims to search and investigate facts according to legal, scientific, engineering and technical foundations in order to examine any deficiencies or negligence that led to a waste of the State's capabilities and public funds. It also noted that the committee will have the right to view documents, attachments and work orders, conduct the necessary checks, determine sites where rainwater pools, and indicate deficiencies in the rainwater drainage system. It stated that the decision to form the committee stipulated that the committee should submit a detailed report on the results of its work and recommendations of the legal and administrative measures that must be taken towards the one who caused any deficiency within a week, and by a deadline of 9th of this month.
